Talkgroup Activity — Stats V4 Help
What Stats V4 Does
Stats V4 tracks talkgroup activity by counting
DMR keyups and maintains precomputed rankings
for several rolling time periods.
The statistics are calculated in the background.
The admin page reads the completed ranking data
directly from Redis rather than recalculating
statistics each time the page is opened.

Keyups
The Keyups column shows the number of recorded
DMR transmissions for that talkgroup during the
selected period.
Talkgroups with more activity appear higher in
the ranking.
Dataset Cards
The six cards at the top of the page show how
many talkgroups currently have activity recorded
in each Stats V4 ranking period.
Show Results
The Show selector controls how many ranked
talkgroups are returned to the browser.
Available limits are 25, 50, 100 and 250.
Talkgroup Lookup
Enter a numeric TGID in the Lookup TGID box to
check a specific talkgroup.
The lookup displays its name, activity count,
current ranking and whether the talkgroup is
marked as a system/excluded talkgroup.
System Talkgroups
TGIF system or excluded talkgroups are not shown
in the public rankings or public TGID lookup.
Refresh
Refresh reloads the selected ranking from Redis.
It does not rebuild or recalculate the statistics.
How Stats V4 Is Designed
Stats V4 is designed to keep load on CallMGR,
Redis and the web server low.
-
Activity is collected by the DMR statistics
system.
-
A daily background process creates one
precomputed daily ranking.
-
Rolling 1, 7, 30, 90, 180 and 365 day
rankings are generated from those daily
results.
-
The PHP page reads only the requested,
already-ranked results.
-
Browser requests do not scan the complete
Redis database.
-
Browser requests do not walk every TGIF
talkgroup to calculate a ranking.
During the initial rollout there may only be a
small amount of V4 history available. Longer
periods will become more representative as
additional completed daily datasets accumulate.
Purpose
Stats V4 provides administrators with a fast way
to identify highly active and low-activity
talkgroups. The longer-term objective is to help
manage unused talkgroups and support the planned
six-month and twelve-month inactivity review
process.
